Mike Shanahan Helps Out Heimerdinger Foundation

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Former Denver Broncos coach Mike Shanahan, New York Jets coach Todd Bowles, Rams coach Jeff Fisher and Olympic gold medalist Scott Hamilton are among those helping raise money to help feed people undergoing cancer treatment in honor of the late Mike Heimerdinger.

The fourth annual Drive 4 Dinger Celebrity golf tournament features a kickoff dinner and auction Friday night with golf Saturday at Gaylord Springs Golf Links.

This event is the key fundraiser for the foundation named for Heimerdinger, who died of cancer in 2011.

He coached with the Denver Broncos, Tennessee Titans and Jets during his career. The foundation operates Meals2Heal delivering food to people undergoing cancer treatment.
