Memorial To Recognize Medical Helicopter Crews Who Died

LITTLETON, Colo. (AP) - Air medical helicopters are flying over and landing at the future site of a permanent memorial to those who died trying to help patients.

The memorial planned near Denver will honor air medical crews who lost their lives, recognizing the sacrifice of more than 400 crew members who have died since 1972.

Those being remembered include Colorado Flight for Life pilot Patrick Mahany, who died when a Flight for Life helicopter crashed in Frisco last year.
