Commerce City Holds Colorado's Largest Memorial Day Parade
COMMERCE CITY, Colo. (CBS4) -- Commerce City is holding their 55th annual Memorial Day Parade Monday morning to honor those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for the nation. It's the largest parade in Colorado and includes about 100 military units, bands, floats and antique car clubs.

This is the 55th year the city has opened its streets to welcome military units, bands, floats and antique cars. The grand marshall this year was Army Staff Sgt. Thad Harvey. He has served 16 years in the Army which include four combat tours.
For Harvey, the honor is about making sure you never forget those fallen comrades, whom include two special friends he lost.
"It's about our friends. It's about our family and those who can't be here today. I think about Jeremy and I think about Ben, you know, they can't be with their families today. I really wish they could, so I'll be here for them, and they'll always be with me," Harvey said.

The 1.5 mile parade starts at 9:30 a.m. at E. 64th Ave. and Newport St. and ends at 6060 E. Parkway Dr. The parade lasts approximately two hours.
