Matt Duchene Looking Forward To His First-Ever Game 7

DENVER (CBS4) - Hockey fans have to love this time of year as there will be three "Game 7s" in the NHL Wednesday night. Of course all Colorado Avalanche fans care about is the one at the Pepsi Center.

Avs fans are ready to blow the top off "The Can." The home team has won every game in the series.

The Avs held an optional practice on Wednesday and center Matt Duchene was out there. He's still not at full speed but played pretty well Monday night with 19 minutes of ice time.

Duchene says he's looking forward to his first Game 7.

"My playoffs are just starting for me personally and we're already at a Game 7," Duchene said. "So I was thrown right in the fire. I think I draw on my Olympic experience at this point. You played two game 7s against the U.S. and against Sweden, so it's not uncharted territory for me personally. I mean it's a challenge with an injury like this and trying to work through it and be effective."

The puck drops against the Minnesota Wild at 7:30 p.m.
