Matt Duchene: 'It's Time To Stop Building And Live In The House'

DENVER (CBS4) - Colorado Avalanche training camp gets underway Friday and the annual Burgundy and White game on is on Sunday.

The Avs' mission this year is to prove they are more like the 112-point team from two years ago than the last place team from last season.

"It's time to win, it's time to … you know, it's time to stop building and actually live in the house you're building … so to speak," Avs center Matt Duchene said. "That's my motivation, I know that. You've got to make good on these years from now until -- hopefully if I take care of myself until about 32, you know you're in your physical prime, so I want to make good on those years for myself, and most importantly for the team."

The first game of the regular season is Oct. 8. at home against the Minnesota Wild.
