(CBS4) - A 28-year-old skier from Colorado died after falling in Denali National Park and Preserve in Alaska. Officials say Mason Stansfield died after falling into a crevasse while he was on a glacier in the park. Stansfield was a resident of Ouray.

A park ranger who was involved in the rescue attempt was lowered into the crevasse where Stansfield fell and confirmed he had died. The National Park Service says rescuers found his bod on the South Spur of the Eldridge Glacier just under 8,000 feet.
