Marine From Colorado Among Those Missing Off Oahu

FOUNTAIN, Colo. (CBS4)- One of the 12 Marines missing off the Hawaiian coast of Oahu is from Colorado.
Marine Sgt. Jeffrey Sempler was among the dozen aboard two helicopters that crashed last Thursday. Crews have been able to only recover some debris and four empty life rafts.
Sempler's mother lives in Fountain located south of Colorado Springs.
"He's always been able to make me smile and laugh. It seems like everything is falling apart, there he is.. you know? He could put a smile on my face," said Sempler's mother Laurie Allen.
Sempler, 22, was scheduled to return to Fountain next month for his birthday. His family attended a candlelight vigil in his honor on Wednesday evening in Fountain.
