Man's Body Found On Longs Peak After He Doesn't Show Up For Work

ROCKY MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK, Colo. (CBS4) - A 24-year-old Fort Collins man died while hiking on Longs Peak.

Officials with Rocky Mountain National Park said the man, who hasn't been identified, was overdue at work on Monday afternoon and that emergency officials were notified. They said the man had left early Monday morning to hike Longs Peak's popular "keyhole" route.

Searchers spotted the man's body Tuesday afternoon about 1,000 feet from that route in an area known as "The Trough."

Officials said they will attempt to reach the man's body soon. So far, weather conditions have made it hard to get to where the hiker's body is.
