The suspects have been identified as driver Nathaniel Eugene Owens, 35, from Augusta, Kansas and passenger Kelsy Lilah Capps, 23 of Wichita, Kansas.

The pursuit followed a report of a carjacking that occurred earlier in the night in neighboring Mesa County. According to witness reports, the vehicle was seen headed east on I-70 into Garfield County reaching speeds of 110 miles per hour, police estimated.
