Man With Long Name Faces Long List Of Charges In Longmont

LONGMONT, Colo. (CBS4) - Police in Longmont arrested a man who had been on the run for days.

Inpone Mounkeophilakham, 46, was wanted for a long list of charges, including attempted homicide.

Police say Mounkeophilakham fired a shot at a stranger outside an apartment complex located at 225 East 8th Avenue on Saturday. Nobody was injured and Mounkeophilakham ran off before police arrived.

"Mounkeophilakham exited a residence believed by residents of the apartment complex as being involved in drug use and walked to the parking lot," police said in a statement. "As Inpone approached the victim (whom he does not know) he asked the victim in passing how he was doing. The victim, being fed up with drug use in the area, replied and referred to Inpone as a methamphetamine user."

Police said Mounkeophilakham went to a truck and retrieved a gun. He shot in the direction of the victim but didn't hit him.

On Wednesday Police got information that Mounkeophilakham was inside an apartment in the 2200 block of Pratt Street in Longmont. He barricaded himself in the apartment. The SWAT team was called and Mounkeophilakham was arrested.

He faces charges of attempted second-degree homicide, attempted first-degree assault, possession of weapon by previous offender, illegal discharge of a weapon and reckless endangerment.
