Man Who Started Standoff At Arvada Police Headquarters Identified

ARVADA, Colo. (CBS4)- The man who walked into Arvada Police Headquarters with what looked like a real gun and kept police outside during a standoff for several hours has been identified.

Police said John Webb came into the headquarters at 6:18 p.m. on Oct. 2 with what appeared to be a gun. One woman inside was able to escape before the barricade situation began. She was not hurt.

Police said he had been making suicidal threats. Webb, 29, eventually surrendered after three hours. No one was hurt.

Police said the gun was actually an air soft pellet gun that had been altered to resemble a real handgun.

Webb is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday on charges of felony menacing.
