Man Wanted In Colorado Escapes From Custody In Maine

CHELSEA, Maine (AP/CBS4) - Police are asking for the public's help in finding a man who jumped out of a state police cruiser and escaped into the woods after his arrest in the town of Chelsea in Maine earlier this week.

Authorities say 34-year-old Jason Langdon was handcuffed and lost a shoe when he fled Wednesday night. A search of the woods with aid of tracking dogs was fruitless.

Police arrested Langdon after the car he was driving was stopped for a traffic violation and he gave officers a false name.

He was last spotted in West Gardner around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday. He is described as about 5-feet, 5-inches tall, and about 135 pounds. He has brown hair and green eyes.

Police say he is also wanted in Colorado and Florida. He is not believed to be armed.
