Man To Be Sentenced In Attempted Aurora Abduction

AURORA, Colo. (AP) — A man who pleaded guilty to trying to kidnap an 8-year-old girl from her bedroom in suburban Denver is expected to be sentenced to 30 years in prison Wednesday.

John Stanley Snorsky pleaded guilty in September to first-degree burglary and second-degree kidnapping in a deal with prosecutors.

The sentencing comes just over a year after the attempted abduction.

Police say Snorsky got into the girl's bedroom through an unlocked window and grabbed her. She screamed for help and was able to get away from him just as her father ran outside.

Snorsky was on parole for a burglary conviction at the time. He was arrested the next day on an unrelated charge and later linked to the kidnapping case with the help of DNA evidence.
