Man Suspected Of Driving Under The Influence In Fatal Crash In Englewood

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (CBS4) – A man has been arrested following a fatal crash in Englewood Friday evening.

According to Sgt. Brian Cousineau with Englewood police, officers responded to a report of a crash involving three vehicles in the 5300 block of South Broadway at 5:43 p.m.

"Upon arrival officers learned that a pickup truck was traveling southbound on Broadway from Belleview at a high rate of speed. The truck collided with a sedan, pushing the sedan into a third vehicle," Cousineau said in a statement.

The 87-year-old male driver of the sedan was killed and his two passengers, a 60-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man, were taken to Swedish Medical Center with serious injuries.

The driver of the third vehicle was not injured.

The driver of the truck, identified as Austin Cale, 25, was arrested under the suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.

No other names have been released.
