Man Suffers Fatal Fall While Hiking Near Mitchell Lake In Boulder County

BOULDER COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) - A crew has recovered the body of a man who fell off a cliff while hiking in the area of Mitchell Lake.

According to Cmdr. Heidi Prentup with the Boulder County Sheriff's Office, the 49 year-old Denver area man was hiking with friends Saturday evening when the fall happened.

"The victim was walking across a narrow ledge when he lost his footing and fell approximately 60 feet to his death," Prentup said in a statement.

It was too dark when deputies got the call last night to retrieve the man's body so the decision was made to retrieve the body on Sunday.

The victim's name hasn't been released.

Foul play isn't suspected.
