Man Sought In Killing Of Former Springs Woman Caught At Santa Fe Shelter

TAOS, N.M. (AP) - A 50-year-old drifter sought in the killing of a Taos County woman last summer has been arrested at a homeless shelter in Santa Fe.

Police said a tip resulted in the arrest Monday night of Ivan Denning Cales Jr. on a warrant charging him with murder in the killing of 33-year-old Roxanne Houston.

Her body was found Christmas Day in a shallow grave in the Carson area of Taos County. She had moved to the Taos area from Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Authorities said Cales had changed his appearance and was using an alias.
