Man Shot, Killed By Greeley Police Member Of 29th Street Bloods
GREELEY, Colo. (CBS4) - The man who was shot and killed by Greeley police after an attempted robbery and carjacking has been identified as a member of the 29th Street Bloods.
Police say Sean Ryan Mondragon held two people at gunpoint at Chippers Bowling Lanes located at 2454 8th Avenue in Greeley on Wednesday night.
The victim told police she was told to get money from the ATM or Mondragon, 24, would shoot her friends.
Both witnesses and police said Mondragon was acting violently. He was allegedly armed with a sawed-off shotgun and a handgun at the time.
Mondragon, of Alamosa, had an active felony warrant with a bond of $100,000 issued by the Rio Grande County Sheriff's Office for his involvement in an incident about one month ago in which he tried to hit an officer with his vehicle in Monte Vista. The warrant was for assault, obstructing a peace officer, driving under restraint and committing a crime of violence.
Mondragon had an extensive criminal history that included arrests in Broomfield, Alamosa County and Conejos County.
