Man Shot In Torso, Loveland Police Investigate Fight
LOVELAND, Colo. (CBS4) - Police in Loveland investigated a fight between two groups of people that left one man with a gunshot wound to the torso. Police said no one was taken into custody.
Officers rushed to the 3500 block of Butternut Drive in Loveland about 9:17 a.m. Saturday on reports of a physical disturbance. When officers were on their way a shot was fired at the scene by a member of one of the groups.
Police believe those involved in the disturbance knew each other. When officers arrived the groups had separated.
A 23-year-old man from Loveland was shot one time in the right side of his torso and he was rushed to the hospital where he was treated and released. Two other men were injured but refused medical treatment.
Police interviewed witnesses as part of their investigation. The case will be taken to the Larimer County District Attorney's Office to determine what, if any, charges will be filed.
Investigators do not believe there is a threat to the community.
