Man Sentenced To 13 Years In Thornton Bar Killing

BRIGHTON, Colo. (AP) — A man has been sentenced to 13 years in prison for reckless manslaughter in a bar shooting in Thornton last year.

Mario Moses Oliveros was sentenced Wednesday after he was convicted in January in the shooting death of Jose Horner of Westminster. He also was convicted of four counts of recklessly endangering other patrons of the bar.

The shooting took place after a disturbance at the bar in 2013. Prosecutors say Oliveros fired his gun at bar patrons, and Horner was shot in the head and killed.
