Man Sentenced In Robbery Of Grandmother

DENVER (CBS4)- A man convicted of robbing an elderly woman and taking her tax refund money has been sentenced to the maximum in prison.

Lenny Esquibel was found guilty of robbery of an at-risk victim, theft from an at-risk adult and third-degree assault on an at-risk adult.

Esquibel appeared in Denver District Court on April 29 and was given the maximum sentence of 12 years in prison.

On March 30, 2015, Esquibel, 40, punched Elmeania Lamprey, 70, outside the Walmart located at 7800 East Smith Road and robbed her of her tax refund money.

A co-defendant, Jesse Giron, has been accused of driving the get away vehicle. His trial is scheduled for June.
