Man Sentenced In Nightclub Murder

DENVER (CBS4)- A man who pleaded guilty in a deadly shooting at a nightclub has been sentenced in connection with the case.

Stephen Futrell pleaded guilty earlier this year to second-degree murder for the shooting death of a man outside of PT's Showclub on East Colfax Avenue.

In exchange for his plea, a first-degree murder charge and a weapons charge were dismissed. Futrell, 32, was sentenced on Friday to 35 years in prison.

In the early morning hours of Sept. 13, 2015, Futrell was involved with an altercation with Jeremy Garcia, 29, inside the club. He later shot and killed Garcia outside the club.
