Man Pleads Guilty To Holdups In Colorado, New Mexico, Texas

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - A 30-year-old man has pleaded guilty in federal court in New Mexico to robbing 16 businesses in Colorado, New Mexico and Texas in mid-2012.

Christopher Perea of Albuquerque pleaded guilty to robberies that included seven in Albuquerque, three each in Austin, Texas, and Denver, and one in each of Sunset Valley, Texas; Aurora, Colorado, and Colorado Springs.

The U.S. Attorney's Office for New Mexico said Perea could be sentenced to up to 20 years in prison on each of 16 counts of violating a federal law that bars committing crimes that interfere with interstate commerce.
