Man Pleads Guilty In Nightclub Murder

DENVER (CBS4)- A man charged in connection with a shooting death outside of PT's Showclub on East Colfax Avenue last year has pleaded guilty.

Stephen Futrell pleaded guilty to second-degree murder. In exchange for his guilty plea, a first-degree murder charge and a weapons charge were dismissed. Futrell, 32, entered the plea on April 29.

In the early morning hours of Sept. 13, 2015, Futrell was involved in an altercation with Jeremy Garcia inside the club. He later shot and killed Garcia outside the club.

Futrell remains in custody and faces 24 to 40 years in prison when he is sentenced on June 17.
