Man In Critical Condition After Early Morning Shooting In Aurora

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4) - Police in Aurora are investigating a shooting that left a man in critical condition.

According to police, officers responded to a report of shots fired near East 23rd Avenue and North Dayton Street at approximately 4:10 a.m. Sunday.

"Upon arrival officers located a crime scene and evidence that indicated that a shooting had occurred at that location. Several shots had been fired from several weapons possibly from people on foot and/or in vehicles," police said in a statement.

Police also found another crime scene they believe is related to the original scene at East 23rd Avenue and North Emporia Street.

"A short time later an adult male victim walked into the Emergency Department of University Hospital suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg. The wound is life threatening and the victim is currently in critical condition," police said.

Police don't have any information about the suspect or suspects.

The Major Crimes Unit responded to the scene and are actively investigating this case.
