Man In Court Over Fatal Stabbing At Longmont Party

LONGMONT, Colo. (AP) — A 20-year-old man suspected in a stabbing that left one person dead and two others seriously injured at a party at a Longmont home has made his first appearance in court.

Secundino "Dino" Martinez of Frederick was told Tuesday he is facing charges of first-degree murder and two counts of attempted first-degree murder. His next hearing is scheduled Jan. 16.

Police Cmdr. Jeff Satur says about 20 people between the ages of 16 and 21 attended a party that included the use of both marijuana and alcohol, and an argument escalated into a fight that spilled onto the front lawn.

Satur identified the man who died as a 19-year-old from Lafayette. An 18-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy were hospitalized in serious condition.
