Man Finds Drone With Camera In Yard, Shows Camera His Phone Number

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (CBS4) - A Colorado Springs man found a military drone in his backyard.

Ronald Fisk said he was working in his yard on Wednesday when he heard a crash. At first he thought the drone belonged to a hobbyist, but when he saw a huge camera attached to it he decided to call police.

"There was a big camera like a drone you see on television with the military ... It was definitely a military-style camera. So I tried to figure out what to do with it," Fisk told KKTV in Colorado Springs.

Fisk said he even wrote his phone number on a piece of paper and showed it to the camera on the drone thinking somebody would see it and call, but nobody did.

It turned out the drone belonged to Fort Carson. Officials there told KKTV that the drone lost communication with the GPS and flew unguided over the city.

Fort Carson wouldn't release any more information about the drone, only saying it was being used for increased protection measures on Fort Carson.
