Man Convicted In 1994 Double-Slaying In Denver
DENVER (AP) - A man has been found guilty in a 1994 double-slaying in Denver that was re-opened by the police cold-case unit.
Andre Jackson, 44, was convicted Friday of first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder and sexual assault.
Prosecutors say three people were attacked and tortured and one was repeatedly sexually assaulted during a June 12, 1994, home invasion.
Two died and one survived. The survivor told police several intruders entered his home demanding money and drugs.
Jackie McConnell, 39, pleaded guilty earlier to second-degree murder in the attack and will be sentenced in October.
Samuel Sims, 43, is scheduled to go on trial in September on charges of first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder and sexual assault.
Prosecutors say DNA evidence led to the arrests of the three suspects.
