Man Charged With Murder Of Pueblo Woman Who Remains Missing

WESTMINSTER, Colo. (CBS4) - The Westminster man who allegedly admitted to killing his friend was formally charged on Thursday.

Christopher Waide, 23, faces charges that include first-degree murder, sexual assault and tampering with evidence.

He is suspected of killing Lea Chali Porter, 19, of Pueblo, although her body has not been found.

Porter was visiting Waide at his apartment when she disappeared. Her car was still sitting in the parking lot outside the apartment but her personal possessions were gone. Porter hadn't used her cellphone since June 3 and her social media accounts and credit cards hadn't been active since then either.

Her family says Facebook messages show Porter rejected romantic advances from Waide before she visited with him.

Porter is due back in court on Friday.

Authorities in Adams County and with Westminster police have released few details about their search effort to find Porter's body.
