Man Charged With Kidnapping Ex-Girlfriend, Holding Her For 2 Days

DENVER (CBS4)- A man has been charged, accused of kidnapping a former girlfriend and holding her for two days against her will before she was rescued.

Arnoldo Banuelos has been charged with two counts of second-degree kidnapping, six counts of sexual assault, menacing, vehicular eluding and third-degree assault.

The charges allege that on July 15 Banuelos, 26, kidnapped a former girlfriend and repeatedly sexually assaulted her. She was able to borrow a phone and text her family who found her at a Denver hotel on July 17 and called police.

The charges further allege that Banuelos tried to run from officers.

He remains in custody on $100,000 bond. Banuelos is scheduled to appear in Denver County Court on July 28 to be formally advised of the charges.
