Man Charged With Assault On Parole Officers In Aurora

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4)- A suspect has been charged in an incident involving parole officers attempting to check on a parolee in Aurora.

Michael Meeks has been charged with two counts of first-degree assault on a peace officer in connection with the June 8 incident.

The Adams County District Attorney's Office said Meeks, 39, who was also present at the residence at the Monte Vista Apartments at 2014 Emporia Street, pulled a gun on two parole officers with the Colorado Department of Corrections.

Meeks was shot after he showed the weapon. He is scheduled to appear in Adams County Court for a preliminary hearing on July 7.
