Man Arrested On Suspicion Of Causing 2-Year-Old's Death

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (CBS4) - A Grand Junction man is in custody and accused in the death of a toddler.

The Mesa County Sheriff's office released a photo on Saturday of Isaac Ortiz, 21.

Deputies went to the home where he lived with the girl's mother Wednesday night. They found 2-year-old Lydia Blackwood unresponsive.

She was pronounced dead a short time later at the hospital.

An autopsy showed the toddler died from blunt force trauma to the head and neck.

Ortiz is now facing charges including child abuse and second degree murder.
