Man Arrested In Stolen Police Rifles Case In Fort Collins

FORT COLLINS, Colo. (CBS4) - Police have arrested a suspect in connection with the theft of semi-automatic rifles from two marked patrol cars in Fort Collins on last Thursday.

According to Fort Collins Police Services, Carlos Javier Chavez, 27, from Denver was arrested and charged with first-degree criminal trespass and theft, both felonies.

The two stolen AR-15 rifles haven't been recovered.

Chavez's booking photo hasn't been released because of the ongoing investigation.
