EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) - A father in El Paso County faces charges after allegedly challenging his daughter to a duel.

Williams allegedly pulled a handgun and pointed it at his daughter and his wife. Authorities say that's when he told his daughter to get a gun so they could duel. During a struggle both Williams and his daughter fired a shot but neither was hurt.

"As the wife and children fled the residence, the father then went to the shed to retrieve a shotgun and pointed it at his wife. She then grabbed the rifle, took the children to a neighbors house and called 911," the sheriff's office said in a statement.

Williams now faces charges of felony menacing and child abuse.
