Man Allegedly Bought Pot From Colorado To Sell In Maryland

SMITHSBURG, Md. (AP) — A western Maryland man is charged with selling marijuana he allegedly obtained in weekly mail shipments from Colorado.

Twenty-two-year-old Tyler Myers couldn't be reached Thursday for comment on the charges filed Monday. His Smithsburg home has no telephone listing. A public defender who represented Myers at a bond review declined to comment on the case.

Court records state that Myers told police he sold marijuana that he bought from a source in Colorado at a rate of two to three pounds a week from September through last week.

Investigators say they found $175,000 in cash, five handguns, three shotguns and some marijuana in Myers' home.

Myers was arrested one week after he allegedly mailed about $5,600 to a Denver address. Denver police didn't immediately respond to questions about the case.
