Man Accused Of Walking Into Police Station With Gun Formally Charged

DENVER (CBS4) - A man who allegedly walked into a Denver police station with a gun last week has been formally charged.

Copter4 was over the scene last Monday near the intersection of West Evans Avenue and South Clay Street. Police say Daniel Ruiz, 33, drove onto the lawn of the Denver Police District 4 station and then walked inside armed with a handgun, an assault rifle and a knife.

Ruiz had visited the police station a week before and was reportedly angry at not being considered for a position as an officer.

Nobody was hurt in this incident.

Ruiz has been charged with assault and menacing.
