Man Accused Of Shooting Aurora Officer To Stand Trial

BRIGHTON, Colo. (CBS4) - An Adams County judge says a man accused of shooting an Aurora police officer should stand trial.

Jahvell Forrest faces attempted murder charges. He was in court on Thursday for a preliminary hearing.

Forrest is accused of shooting Officer Ryan Burns during a traffic stop in November. Burns was hit in the leg and had to undergo multiple surgeries.

Police say Forrest fired at the officer from a car he had just stolen. He was captured a few days after the crime.

Forrest is scheduled to be back in court on Feb. 19 to enter a plea.
