Man Accused Of Returning Stolen Car Taken Into Custody

DENVER (CBS4) – A man who police say allegedly stole a car and went on a shopping spree with the victim's money before bringing the vehicle back to where he took it from has been arrested.

Police said they arrested Christoper Peacock last Friday in connection with the crime. They believe he sneaked into personal trainer Jim Kemeny's gym near Interstate 25 and Clarkson Street and stole his wallet and car keys. His car was then stolen from a parking garage.

A few days later the car was suddenly returned. Inside was a business card for a parole officer police used as evidence.

Denver police said they don't recall a car thief ever voluntarily returning a car.
