Man Accused Of Impersonating Police Officer Found Guilty

DENVER (CBS4)- A man accused of impersonating a police officer and assaulting a woman has been found guilty on all counts by a jury in Denver.

Morris Fate was convicted of impersonating a police officer, third-degree assault and attempted sexual assault.

Fate, 33, offered a ride to a woman at 17th Avenue and Xenia Street on Oct. 6, 2015. Police say he grabbed her grabbed her, claiming to be a police officer and showing a badge.

The woman was able to get away and Fate was arrested a short time later.

Fate will be sentenced on Sept. 15.
