Man Accused Of Driving Drunk In Fatal Crash Apologizes To Victim's Family

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4) - A man accused of driving drunk and causing a deadly crash appeared in court on Monday.

Police say Jeremy Quincy Brown, 22, ran from the scene at East Iliff Avenue and South Quebec Street early Tuesday morning but they quickly caught him.

The crash killed the driver of the other vehicle involved, identified as 41-year-old Jason Soodsma.

Brown is out on bond and spoke briefly with CBS4's Rahel Solomon. He apologized to the victim's family but said he didn't want to comment further until he hires a lawyer.

Three other people were also in Brown's car but didn't suffer life-threatening injuries.

Brown is now charged with three felonies, including vehicular homicide, DUI and leaving the scene of an accident involving death. He also faces eight misdemeanors and two traffic charges.

Brown's next court appearance is set for April 28.
