Man Accused Of Chasing Children Ordered To Stay Away From Schools

LONGMONT, Colo. (CBS4)- The man who was arrested after he was accused of chasing children near an elementary school in Longmont has been released on bond. The judge ordered Dayle Dexter to stay away from some schools.

Decker was arrested Wednesday morning and charged with three counts each of harassment and child abuse. Decker, 30, also goes by the name Chris.

Decker was apprehended by police after officers received reports from children that someone had chased them to Eagle Crest Elementary School.

On Friday the judge ordered Decker to stay away from Blue Mountain and Eagle Crest Elementary as well as Alton Middle School. He also cannot have contact with anyone who is under the age of 18.

Police have dispatched additional officers to those areas surrounding the schools. Investigators are also waiting to find out if any additional reports are filed.

Online court records show he has arrests for drugs and similar cases of harassing and stalking, but only one guilty plea for harassing by telephone from September of 2009.
