Loveland Announces It Will Open For Skiing On Saturday

SUMMIT COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) - Loveland Ski Area will become the second ski area to open in Colorado when the chairlifts get rolling on Saturday.

Most ski areas have been delayed in their snowmaking efforts due to the unseasonably warm temperatures in October in the state. There has also been less snow in the high country than normal for this time of year.

Crews at Loveland have been working for weeks to get the resort ready for skiers and snowboarders. The first chair will be at 8:30 a.m.
