Toddler Shares Lesson After Falling Out 2-Story Window

LONGMONT, Colo. (CBS4)- A toddler survived falling out of a second story window in his Longmont home earlier this week. Now he's talking about what happened.

"I just falled," said 3-year-old Jeriah when describing his head-first fall from the second story window on Tuesday.

He tumbled head first out the bedroom window even though his mom was in the room with him.

"All I see is his feet going out the window and I just dropped my phone and ran downstairs," said Jeriah's mother Janae Paiz.

When she got outside she found her son, calm after his frightening fall. He didn't seem to be hurt.

When asked if there was anything wrong with him, Jeriah replied, "No."

He did bite his tongue during the tumble.

"He was really freaked out from the ambulance ride from the fireman," said Janae.

Janae said the window will always be locked from now on, "He freaks out when anyone gets near the windows."

Jeriah seems to have learned his lesson when asked about the window, "No going out them, no going out them."

He also has some thoughts on how he survived, "God, him just saved me for life."

Firefighters say screens in windows are not designed to hold anyone inside.
