Longmont Police Search For Fugitive Who Tried To Smother Girlfriend

LONGMONT, Colo. (CBS4)- Police in Longmont are searching for a fugitive who is wanted for crimes all along the front range, including trying to strangle his girlfriend.

Daniel "Danny" Moreno has a violent criminal history with ties in Longmont, Thornton, Greeley, Broomfield and Denver. Police said he assaulted, strangled and smothered his girlfriend on Thursday afternoon. She survived but was badly injured.

Moreno, 26, is wanted on a no-bond felony warrant for domestic violence, first-degree assault, felony menacing, obstruction of phone service, false imprisonment and theft.

Police warn anyone who sees Moreno to stay away and call 911 immediately. Those who wish to remain anonymous can contact Crime Stoppers at 720-913-STOP (7867).
