Longmont Police Say Rape Suspect Kidnapped Teen Girl, Could Be Heading To Missouri

LONGMONT, Colo. (CBS4) - Police in Longmont say they believe a man has kidnapped a 16-year-old girl and they could be on the way to Missouri.

According to Cmdr. Jeff Satur with Longmont Police, the suspect is Thomas Fechtler, 51, who also goes by the name Thomas Kitchen. Fechtler is wanted for sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust, second-degree kidnapping and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

The teen victim is described as being 5-foot-3, 120 pounds with blonde hair and blue eyes.

Fechtler is described as being 5-foot-10, 170 pounds with brown eyes and gray hair.

Police believe Fechtler and his victim could be heading to St. Joseph, Darlington or Kingston, Missouri.

According to Satur, Fechtler could be driving a light green 2007 Toyota Rav4 with expired Missouri plates WH9-K2U. The plates expired in November and the truck has damage to the rear-end.

The warrants for Fechtler are for crimes committed against the kidnapping victim, according to Satur.
