LONGMONT, Colo. (CBS4) - The city says it will inspect all of its plugged and abandoned oil and gas wells.

The decision follows a deadly explosion at a home in nearby Firestone.

It was caused by methane gas leaking from an abandoned, but uncapped, oil and gas line.

The Longmont Times-Call reports the city says there is  no known threat, but it wants to check the 17 wells to be safe.
