Lone Tree Neighbors Receive Reverse 911 For Bear In Tree
LONE TREE, Colo. (CBS4) - A bear in a Lone Tree neighborhood prompted a reverse 911 call to residents early Wednesday morning.
"It was just a shock because it wakes you up right out of a dead sleep!" said Kim Brady.
The second shock for Kim Brady and her husband was the recording on the other end.
"To stay inside that there was a big bear in our neighborhood and not to let your kids out or animals," she said laughingly.
South Metro firefighters showed up to help Lone Tree police and Colorado Parks and Wildlife at around 7 a.m. near Lone Tree Parkway and Lincoln Avenue.
One neighbor told CBS4 the bear was right outside her house on Indian Wells Place. After some time, experts tranquilized the bear and they caught it using a tarp as it fell from the tree.
Neighbors credit the multiple agencies for working together efficiently.
"They were amazing, they all worked together and it was a cool ending, it was a very happy ending," said Brady.
The bear was then relocated to the Pike National Forest.
