Video Helps Boulder County Residents Prepare For Spring Flood Risk

DENVER (CBS4) - It's hard to image that some of the areas hardest hit by last September's flood could once again face more high water as the mountain snowpack begins to melt.

Crews throughout the flood zone are working tirelessly to clear debris in stream beds that could create dams as waters rise this spring.

Boulder County has created a video to help their residents best prepare for what could be difficult times ahead, if the Front Range sees a rapid warm up, and snowmelt exceeds the capacity of rivers, creeks and steams.

The video includes everything from buying flood insurance to how to identify hazards left behind by last year's flood that could make some properties more vulnerable to flooding than others.
