Liquidators Win Auction To Buy Sports Authority Inventory

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (CBS4)- A group of liquidators won an auction to buy Sport Authority's inventory.

According to the Wall Street Journal, the group will pay 101 percent of the cost of the items plus a close to $2 million guarantee.

The auction on Tuesday was just for the inventory of the stores. Another auction will happen later for the retailer's store leases.

Dick's Sporting Goods is interested in at least some of those leases.

The Englewood-based retailer filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy last month. It planned to reorganize and initially said it would close about 140 stores before deciding to sell everything.
