Denver City Council approves Axon license plate reader contract

The Denver City Council on Tuesday approved a one-year contract with Axon to operate cameras that automatically read license plates.

Seven council members voted to approve the contract, which is worth $150,000. Six council members voted against it.

Axon will operate 50 cameras in the city. That's less than half of what the company Flock has been operating around Denver.
