Legion Sending VA Benefits Experts To Fort Collins

FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) - The American Legion will have experts available in Fort Collins in July to help veterans and their families with health care benefits.

The group said Monday it will have a "Veterans Crisis Command Center" July 15-18 at American Legion Post 4 in Fort Collins.

Members of the American Legion national staff, local Legion members, staff from VA facilities and volunteers from other organizations will be available to help.

The American Legion also plans a town hall meeting at Fort Collins Legion post on July 14.

The post is at 2124 County Road 54G.

A Veterans Affairs Department internal investigation found that employees at the VA medical clinic in Fort Collins were instructed to falsify records to make it appear that patients were getting appointments close to the day requested.
